Short Transcript of my discussion with one of the Doctors in Manama: 29/09/2011
Within 5 minutes – the sentencing was thrown at them and that was it.
This 15 year sentence is not only confined to doctors but stretches to other indictees.
Yesterday 32 persons were sentenced to 15 years for varying charges.
15 years seems to be the magic number.
A Spokesman from Ministry of Interior – said ‘We’re going to speak with the Opposition soon – and open lines of communication’.
It seems they are making the military trials extremely harsh in order to force the Opposition to back off.
The Bahraini population is held hostage – if you’re in prison then….. you’re in prison, but if you’re outside …. then you’re laid off work, harassed and tear gassed.
There are factions within the Bahraini Government that are siding with Saudi.
It is absolute chaos – The King orders something, appears on television to make an announcement and then the following day a decree is made in opposition which completely contradicts and reverts to the initial decree!
The people countrywide are physically, emotionally and psychologically exhausted.
On the other side there is a form of ‘Fascist Media’ – espousing propaganda saying there is ‘nothing untoward happening in Bahrain’ and that they are ‘still’ living in a Paradise.
The Doctors are lacking any future – they have been left hanging to know what will happen – they do not know if they will be lifted from their homes tonight.
Each of them has had 15 - 20 years experience in serving their community and they are now hiding like refugees and criminals.
Their families are living in terror, they have suffered enough – now the children don’t know if they will see their parents tomorrow or if their families will be ripped apart.
