Doctors case in Bahrain is purely political and does not need a great effort to be disproved for the following reasons:
o The doctors are members of the disaster committee and have been working according to a plan to deal in these situations (disaster plan). They have attended the hospital at the request of administration.
o The doctors were never absent. However, those who were absent from work, were rewarded while the committed doctors got in prison on sectarian basis.
o Salmaniya Medical Center (SMC) was occupied by the army and the masked security forces. Those forces are the one who blocked the access of injured and wounded, and that has been witnessed and documented by renowned journalists.
o Those who abused the regime and distorted his reputation were the security and military forces. What was attributed to a small group of people (doctors and nurses) of the attempt to overthrow the government is just a joke from the military prosecution. Is the regime a glass on a table that any child can overthrow it?! The same applies to the charge of inciting hatred against the regime. That indicates the inability of the authorities to bear any criticism or reveal the facts.
o Administration of SMC is composed of staff from the other sect, who participated in the treatment of wounded and some of those staff got beaten by security forces and the army. However, they did not attain any harm and did not go to prison. They were asked to report any security incident in the hospital, to control the security and media personnel access to the hospital. There failure was attributed to those doctors and nurses who did their best to perform their duty .
o It is better to reward the medical staff because it showed the hospital's capacity in dealing with emergencies and these are among the services provided by the country. Their work was to show the country’s ability to deal with these incidents.
o If the medical staff did not have a role in the events, the number of victims will be much more. After then, that would be a factor to increase international pressure on the regime. Ironically, they were imprisoned and if they didn’t do their job, they will be accused of not doing their jobs! All of that is based on sectarian reasons.
o There wasn’t discriminating in the treatment of patients as prosecution witnesses denied that and didn’t approve it.
o Occupation of the Salmaniya hospital denied by witnesses for the prosecution, especially Dr. Waleed Al Mane’a and Dr. Jassim Almahza, who said in court that it is not true that any one took over the hospital.
o How can few people occupy of big hospital? Where are the weapons and militias? Why no one of these militias were brought before court, according to these allegations?
o There are a lot of video clips to prove that Salmaniya hospital was not occupied.
o Bahrain Independent Commission Of Inquiry confirmed that the issue of doctors do not live up to reality, but rather is a means of political pressure.
o Records of the court especially that of prosecution and defense witnesses should be seen by media.
